I’ve been an avid fisherman and outdoorsman for the past 30 years, as well as enjoying various sports like baseball, softball, bowling, with a little white water kayaking, golf, football, and basketball thrown in. I fished the pro bass circuit for 15 years in Northern California and it gave me a great advantage and understanding for all types of fishing, such as ocean fishing, and fishing steams and rivers. But my favorite outdoor activity of all is hunting and watching my dogs work. As you can imagine, I do not stay home much.
I have been a Field Reporter for Western Outdoor News for the past 2 years and I’ve had the chance to meet and experience some of the best guides and professional outdoorsmen the State has to offer. My true passion is duck hunting, and over the 30-year span I’ve hunted with some of the best callers and experienced duck hunters in the state. I will be sharing many of these experiences during my presentations at the California International Sports Expos in 2003.
Raising yellow labs carries over the passion for duck hunting and my line of dogs reflects the love of the breed and sport. My lines are gun dog; show dog, this gives you an intelligent, beautiful yellow lab that loves to hunt and the temperament a little calmer than the all field trial dogs. 90% of my dogs are sold as household pets because of their looks and temperament.

We have won many local as well as State honors with photo contests, such as the Best of Show at the Harvest Fair, the Peoples Choice Award at the El Dorado County Fair, and Honorable Mention at the California State Fair. The best honor we receive is the joy our photographs bring to others.

Participating in outdoor sports in high levels of competition gives me an edge when it comes to sports photography. I know and feel what the athlete would like when it comes to capturing the moment in pictures.
When you have a passion for a particular sport it really shows in your photography work. You can be a professional photographer but with out the passion your work will lack the edge of excellence. Because my wife and I both have such a passion for the outdoors you’ll see the edge I’m talking about through our photos.
