Dog Tip of the Month
Protect your hunting partner from Rattlesnake Bites
by Bill Mays

If you live in an area that is prone to Rattlesnakes and have dogs that roam the property, the chances of your dog getting bitten are very high. Dogs are curious and protective all in the same breath and will usually get bitten in the face which can be deadly or expense to treat. Rahaauges Hunting Club will host world renowned rattlesnake avoidance trainer Patrick Callaghan September 26 & 27th at Nelson Grove Park in Woodland

Callaghan dog training is a safe and a humane way of teaching dogs to stay away from scent, sight, and the noise of rattlesnakes. Each dog is individually trained by Callaghan through a low level of electronic stimulation that is carefully applied to each dog’s temperament, personality, and physical characteristics.

Training will be done with live, defanged, and muzzled rattlesnakes in a controlled environment for the safety of your dog. Callaghan has decades of experience with his highly successful training technique that could possible save your pets life.

There will be a $70 per dog charge and participants will be able to attend the class on the 26th or 27th of September. All participants must register by Sept.1.

Raahauge’s Hunt Club Sporting Clay range is open year round and the game bird hunt club will open for the 2009-2010 season Sept. 12th.
