Practice, Practice, Practice by Bill Mays Champion clay target shooter John Cirby’s “Tip of the Month” is how to practice. “Practice is not going out with the good old boys and shooting a couple rounds of trap or sporting clays,” said Cirby. “Practice is going out and shooting just the target stations that are giving you the most problems. If it’s a crossing left target or a certain station you just can’t master, have the machine set up to shoot just that target.” He went on to say, “Have someone stand behind you on the range and let you know if you are shooting high, low, or behind or in front of the target. Do not have 3-5 friends trying to tell you what you are doing wrong on the range and private lessons from a qualified instructor is always the best answer to your problems.”
